Great find! Following the earlier angled shots, it's a wonderful final shot showing off the symmetry of the (fictional) typewriter. Although they've anthropomorphized it just enough to make it look to me like a skull--the typewriter as tool to kill art?

Both Miguel Ángel and Kevin are right. The typewriter was based on an LC Smith, but artistic license created a skull-like design on the back of the machine.

Why do I say this with such confidence? Because I have a friend who works as an archivist at Pixar and collects typewriters. The artists borrowed her LC Smith to use as a model for this machine!
