And here I thought my typewriter collection was nearing completion... now I know there's another type of typewriter ephemera I wasn't aware of! Those tins are fantastic, and some of them are genuine works of art. Interesting how they took the time and the effort to decorate something as mundane and "disposable" as a typewriter ribbon packaging.
Alas, those wonderful pieces of art belong to an era before mine; I don't recall seeing typewriter ribbons packaged in anything but cardboard and clear plastic packages. I wonder if those beautiful cans were ever used down here.
