The time change does not save anything or make a day any longer or increase the amount of daylight. It only makes things confusing. Then I like U.T.C. (formerly called GMT OR UT), no a.m. or p.m. only real time and everyone knows what time it is.
Blues songs begin, "I woke up this morning...". Today, with, ahem, British Summer Time, it was closer to noon. Hate it. And I always forget to change at least one of the clocks or timers in the house, like for the heating system or the cooker.
I agree completely. My parents live in Arizona, which stays on Standard Time all year. It works great for them, although it makes scheduling their weekly phone calls to the rest of us more complicated.
I read a great book about the history of DST a few years ago; I think it was Seize the Daylight, by David Prerau.

Whenever the spring time change comes, it takes me about a month to adjust!

It seems that once things are in place, it's difficult to remove them.
