Mine tend to get stuck in the guide if they do at all.
it's maddening.

This can be frustrating.

There is probably some dirt somewhere that you might be able to get rid of with some cleaning fluid in a spray can. You can try oiling some of the connections. You may need to reshape one of the wire links.

If all else has failed, and I know others will scorn me for saying this, but a small drop of oil in the segment at those bars.

I KNOW, I KNOW! It can collect dust and gum up. I know. But, if all other options are exhausted, this can work wonders.

I did it with my Corona Comet DeLuxe. Not one typebar...ALL of the typebars in the segment. They were all completely jammed. Now, even months later, it still works like a charm.

Just a thought...

Are the typeslugs straight? Or is there something caught at the base of them which prevents them returning to their position? Maybe try lightly sanding the base of the typeslugs. And then giving them some oil? You've probably already tried these methods, I'm sure.

Several good suggestions there Florian. Rather than oil though as Ken suggested, if you can get a good machinist grade vanishing oil there is less chance of dirt collection. Vanishing oil is usually quite thing and light. Here bicycle shops sell a teflon lube that is applied as a liquid from a squirt bottle and dries to a very silky low friction lubricant. Another lube I use is powdered graphite I get from a local locksmith's shop. Hardware stores in the States sell it too.

If you do not have a spray solvent available a good grade naptha based cigarette lighter fluid can usually be squirted on the stubborn type bar and segment and just working the type bar to loosen it. That is what I had to do to free one or two on my Adler J4. Regular old rubbing alcohol works sometimes too. Apply to the sticky bar and segment with an eye dropper.

Crossed legs! One of the joys of typewriting.

Thanks for all your helpful comments! I think I'll need to visit the hardware store instead of going on a Typehunt soon.
