It seemed like a good idea, but the results show that it was half-baked (groan).
Holding the space bar on most typewriters eliminates the 1/ x you are getting. I would prefer the 1 key.
yes, it looks better a regular "1/" than the dedicated key, however it's interesting that the designer of that machine decided to add it!
