Very good! I'd give it a try if I can find a nice leaf. My sycamore tree has large rather robust leaves ... I wonder would they go through the typewriter? Not many maple trees or mice oak trees where I live.

Wish you good luck! With sycamore, you mean Platanus, right? If you can find a dry leaf and press it for an afternoon, I'd expect it to work out.

Have you experimented with a light-touch 'noiseless' design machine? I wonder whether the weaker impact would help a less supple leaf survive better being beaten up by the type slugs. Of course, I should really try myself - while there are still a few autumn leaves around. Great how-to. It is good that your form follows its function, taking a leaf out of Herr Gropius' book :-)

Rob, I wouldn't consider my Studio 42 as light-touch machine, but I chose her for the rather bold typeface.
